About This Spot

Stepping into Tota's Bakery feels like walking into a warm embrace—a modest, unpretentious nook where the rhythms of Brooklyn’s vibrant community mingle with the comforting scents of home-cooked Caribbean flavors. The pace here is calm but lively, with familiar faces moving at ease behind the counter, carefully preparing each dish with practiced hands and quiet devotion.

The atmosphere is one of genuine care, where the warmth extends beyond the ovens and into the heart of the space. There’s a gentle hum of conversation, the occasional chuckle, and a tangible sense that each meal is shared with intention. This is a place where food is more than just sustenance; it’s a vessel for stories, tradition, and connection.

At Tota’s, the menu unfolds like a personal letter from the islands—inviting, flavorful, and soulfully balanced. Whether it’s a flaky coconut roll warming your fingers or a richly spiced stew simmering in the back, each bite speaks of time-honored recipes seasoned with care and a touch of prayer. The culinary offerings here don’t overwhelm; rather, they settle in comfortably, marrying savory and sweet in a way that feels both familiar and quietly surprising.

I never been inside the restaurant but everytime I order off Postmates or DoorDash, the food is always great in my opinion. It’s very savory and not a lot going on with the different foods. My favorite so far is the jerk chicken and stew chicken roti.

I've been going here for years now, and the atmosphere, customer service and food has been excellent each time. There's a reason why the restaurant is beloved and still holding on after all this time. They care and they pray over the food and it more than shows. The savory and sweet pastry selection is very good, and the spice balances are perfect. They also have some of the best black pudding that I've tasted in a while. Highly, highly recommended.
